As I suspected, I finished writing the first draft of my book last week, but it didn’t even break 35,000 words.
I already had several points marked out on my outline that I could go back to expand, so I’ve been rewriting some of those scene and moving the words I would normally delete to the end of the manuscript so that I can maintain my word count. Once Nanowrimo is over, I’ll probably delete them (or most of them), but for the moment I’m just trying to reach 50k.
The low word count was getting to me, though. It was driving me crazy not to hit par every day, so I also started working on the second book in the series.
Hermes continues to “help.” Mostly by covering up my outline.
