Do you know what a Readathon is?

It’s exactly what it sounds like–a reading marthon. For some, that means trying to read for a set number of hours straight. Other times, it’s as simple as just trying to read more for a week or two weeks, or a month.

I recently heard about this readathon through a group on Ravelry. I’m super excited about this one, since it’s Harry Potter themed!

It will probably come as no surprise what house I’m sorting as:

This challenge takes place from October 15-November 12, so that’s plenty of reading time, and there’s still time to sign up!

The link above will tell you how to sign up, but here’s my basic info for sign up purposes:

Wand Type: 12.5″ Maple and dragon heartstring
Pet: cat (though my patronus is a hedgehog)
Favorite Subject: History of Magic and Divination

My TBR for the readathon:

There are a total of 20 challenges, all of which are optional. I know I won’t get through this entire list, but here are the ones I would like to hit (the first 7 books are actually “reader’s choice”, and have no specific prompt but double the points):

Year 1: Drink Deep
Year 2: Biting Cold
Year 3: House Rules
Year 4: The bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu
Year 5: Unmentionable
Year 6: The House of Mirth
Year 7: Fashion and Fetishism

Gryffindor: Read a book with an epic hero/heroine The Hidden Oracle (Trials of Apollo #1)
Hufflepuff: Read a book that contains a strong friendship A Study in Scarlet Women (Lady Sherlock #1)
Ravenclaw: Read a book that revolves around a mystery A Conspiracy in Belgravia (Lady sherlock #2)
Care of Magical Creatures: Read a book that features an animal or magical/mythical creature Sailor Moon vol 5
Occlumency: Read a book about a character with magical abilities or superpowers For this one, I’ll actually be beta reading something, so shh!
Time Turner: Read a book set in the future or past The Invention of Murder
That is a pretty ambitious list, but I think it’s doable–especially since 6 of the first 7 are audiobooks, and 2 of the last 6 are rather short. I’m planning on doing Wednesday check in posts once things get started, so you’ll get some bonus blogs over the next few weeks!
